Overview
Vincent is an Associate at Africa Law Partners and a member of the Firm’s Dispute Resolution practice.
His practice encompasses commercial and corporate litigation, employment and labour relations, constitutional and administrative law, arbitration, intellectual property, regulatory compliance and general commercial advisory.
Vincent is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has experience advising clients on arbitration agreements, commencement of arbitral proceedings, jurisdictional questions arising from arbitration clauses, and the relationship between arbitral and court processes.
He has experience acting in complex disputes before Kenyan courts and tribunals, including contractual and shareholder disputes, employment claims, debt recovery proceedings, constitutional petitions and public law challenges. He also advises clients on dispute avoidance and resolution, contractual risk, employment processes, corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
In addition to contentious work, Vincent advises businesses on the preparation and review of commercial agreements, employment documentation, human resource policies, intellectual property protection and data protection compliance. His approach to legal practice is grounded in understanding the commercial realities underlying a dispute and developing practical strategies aimed at protecting the client’s immediate interests while preserving its broader commercial objectives.
Experience
Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution – Represents corporate and individual clients in commercial disputes involving breach of contract, debt recovery, shareholder and corporate disputes, enforcement proceedings and other complex civil and commercial claims.
Arbitration & Alternative Dispute Resolution – Advises clients on arbitration agreements, commencement and conduct of arbitral proceedings, jurisdictional objections, settlement strategy and the interaction between arbitration clauses and court proceedings.
Employment & Labour Relations – Advises employers and employees on disciplinary proceedings, performance management, termination, redundancy, separation arrangements, workplace policies and employment disputes, and represents clients before the Employment and Labour Relations Court.
Constitutional & Public Law – Acts and advises in constitutional petitions, judicial review and public law disputes involving administrative action, public appointments, procurement, regulatory decision-making and the exercise of statutory power.
Corporate & Commercial Advisory – Drafts, reviews and advises on commercial agreements, corporate arrangements, governance matters and contractual risk, with an emphasis on commercially workable solutions.
Intellectual Property & Regulatory Compliance – Advises businesses on trademark protection, intellectual property rights, licensing, regulatory compliance and related commercial considerations.
Data Protection & Employment Compliance – Advises corporate clients on data protection obligations, workplace compliance frameworks, human resource policies and the development of internal governance procedures.
