Walid is a Partner and the head of the General Finance and Real Estate department.

Walid’s areas of practice include Real Estate and Conveyancing, Banking, Finance and Securities and General Corporate and Commercial law.

Walid is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a member of the Law Society of Kenya, a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb), has an LLB from Strathmore University. and has a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law.

Experience

1. Real Estate – Walid has acted for and advised several real estate developers on the sale of commercial and residential units in Kenya.

2. Banking and Finance – advising and acting for leading financial institutions in the preparation, review, perfection and realisation of securities.

3. Islamic Finance – Walid has authored several articles on Islamic Finance and has represented borrowers and financiers in Islamic finance transactions.

4. Conservation – advised various conservancies and ranches on structuring of wildlife conservancies with the aim of creating suitable models for sustainable conservation of wildlife and their natural habitat.

5. Environmental Law - Walid has advised local and international companies on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues and corporate sustainability practices.
